Microsoft BI and ETL developer

Microsoft BI and ETL developer for US based fortune 500 company, based out of Gurgaon.

 

Key areas of accountability:

Providing operational support for existing applications systems. This may include:

  • Programming with Transact SQL and DTS/SSIS packages, and proven experience in design of Data Warehouses ,Cubes and Reports. Handson experience on Performance Point.
  • Administration of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, including the Database Engine, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Integration Services;
  • Implementing and maintaining high availability solutions for SQL Server including mirroring;
  • Database upgrades and development with SQL Server including logical design, physical implementation of databases, Performance monitoring, SQL Trace Profiling, and Query Execution Plans.
  • Understand what functionality is available as well as what has already been implemented. Advise on new solutions for SQL and the relevant reporting infrastructure.
  • Understand the impact a process change might have on the system and be able to guide process definitions accordingly.
  • Consult with end-users to analyze and understand user needs, objectives, desired features, and input and output requirements.

 

Experience

  • Strong Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 (i.e. 4+ years).
  • Solid & proven DBA experience
  • Proven database administration experience within a support and development role
  • Certification as a MCDBA or MCITP: Database Administrator;
  • Excellent communication & documentation skills;
  • Knowledge of the .Net framework for use with SQL Server 2005;
  • Familiarity with current infrastructure architecture and Windows Server environment.
  • Strong experience in all phases of the system development lifecycle including planning, analysis, design, construction, testing, and support
  • Adept at implementing IT best practices and adhering to methodology. 
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be well organized.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills.
