XBRL Financial Reporting Specialist

General Summary

The XBRL Content Specialist  will be tasked with reviewing XBRL files to ensure they are within SEC requirements and within client-stated guidelines. The XBRL files will contain the face Financial Statements and Notes to Financial Statements found in public company’s annual and quarterly filings.  The review process requires working with many file formats and internet applications in order review reports and rendering of XBRL files, for accuracy and compliance with SEC guidelines.  This individual should have an accounting background, 4-year accounting degree or 4-year Bachelor degree with a minor in Accounting.  This individual should also have Customer Service or Customer Relations experience and be able to explain issues to internal or external clients in an email format and over the telephone.

Job Scopes/Metrics

Reports to the Director, XBRL Operations.  No direct reports.

Performance Indicators

Responds to and resolves client’s concerns regarding XBRL.
 
Maintains thorough knowledge of taxonomies, government legislation, SEC regulations, and US GAAP changes related to areas of responsibility. Informs supervisor of developments and trends that presently or potentially impact areas of responsibility.

Education

Bachelors’ degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred but not required.)
