Software Engineer

Client                     : World-leading supplier of software services to the mobile communications industry

Job Description

 

As a Software Engineer, the candidate will be involved in software integration activity for mobile handset to

different customers on various wireless chipset solutions based on Symbian/S60 BSP. Integration activity shall

involve analysis of requirements and defects, development of feature enhancements, fixing customer reported

defects, integrating features and defect fixes done by third party, testing of fixes and related documentation.

Some positions also work on porting and integration of Series60 to other wireless chipset solutions.

 

Skills/Experience

 

·         Must have in-depth knowledge of SymbianOS internals and drivers and Series60.

·         Must have strong C/C++ programming skills, good problem solving skills.

·         Must have working knowledge of data structures, multitasking concepts, and operating systems basics

·         Must have worked on Mobile handset Application development

·         2-6 years of experience.

 

Additional Skills

 

·         SymbianOS/S60 technology knowledge in TSY, MM, Graphics, LBS, SAT, etc is highly desirable

·         Experience in SymbianOS/S60 build, integration, test and GCF qualification also desirable

·         Knowledge in real-time microprocessor-based embedded programming and embedded real-time OS is a strong plus

·         Basic TCP/IP data knowledge is a plus

·         Experience with Synergy, Perforce, ARM processors, and JTAG debuggers is an asset

·         Exposure to Mobile handset development life cycle

·         Prior knowledge in digital communication, data structures in C/C++, basic OS, and digital circuit design is beneficial

 

Education Requirements

 

Bachelor Engineering degree in Computer Science/Telecommunications/Electronics & Communications is required
