Education Leadership and Management
The Education Leadership and Management Team aims to improve Leadership and Management in the Education System in the country. While there is a lot of work being done to improve things within the class room ranging from Teacher Training to Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation and from Academics & Pedagogy to Improvements in Curriculums, this will only come good in a sustainable manner if we also improve the Leadership and Management capabilities of individuals and institutions.
We invite professionals to join us as employees at The Foundation, in improving the Leadership and Management capabilities of individuals and institutions, to drive change for better quality education that is just, equitable, humane and sustainable
Broad Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Contextualization of central Leadership & Management capacity building modules available for government functionaries
- Facilitation of training modules to all relevant stakeholders
- Organize, facilitate forums of interaction, learning and action for the relevant stakeholders
- Undertake projects / assignments focusing on specific deliverables and improvements within the government educational system – organizational design, process / system improvements, budgeting / planning, IT enablement and egovernance etc.
- Regular interaction with government functionaries to:
~ Assess capacity building needs from a Leadership & Management perspective (development needs related to leadership, management, administration, governance etc.)
~ Help develop and monitor educational development plans with specific focus on building leadership and management capabilities in the relevant government functionaries
~ Help mentor/coach people so as to help create a more effective environment for schools through better administrative support

The indicative list of Individuals and Institutions in the education system:
~ Individuals like Head Teachers, Principals, Block Education Officers, Cluster Education Officers, Education Coordinators and Inclusive Education Resource Teachers
~ Institutions like State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT), District Institute of Educational Training (DIET), District Planning Commission (DPC), School Management Committee (SMC)
Desired Skills & Experience
Preferred background
- Expertise in Learning & Development or Consulting
- Experience of handling and managing teams and people is a must
- Ability to conceptualize and design training modules and material
- Significant experience in facilitating trainings
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, inter personal skills
- Preferably a Master’s degree in management like organization development, human resources, social work and humanities
- Exposure to working at the grassroots level, either in education or other areas of development will be an advantage
