Sharepoint System Admin

Summary of Position

Configure and maintain SharePoint/Application Server/Other solutions including management of application infrastructure, portals, sites, services, and applications. Monitor SharePoint/Application Server/Other solutions and implement preventive and corrective actions to fix or prevent problems. This position is responsible for day to day operations and administration of the SharePoint/Application Server/Other platform.

 

Key Requirements:

·         Must have administration experience with a big firm architecture management.

·         Create SharePoint Web applications

·         Troubleshoot document libraries, Alerts etc.

·         Performing Backup / Restore, Import/Export of SharePoint sites/farms, etc

·         Basic schooling or familiarity with system administration

·         Basic understanding of SharePoint/Application Server/Other administration

·         Strong analytical skills

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

·         Troubleshooting and analytical skills required to resolve routine issues

·         Ability to execute tasks like patching, applying hot fixes, and integration with other systems.

 

Educational Qualification            : B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc (IT)/M.Tech/M.E/MCA

Experience                                         : 3-6 yrs, min 3yrs relevant experience in Sharepoint.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Maintain SharePoint farms and related infrastructure including front-end web servers, application servers and FAST search servers.

·         Maintain SharePoint services such as search, user profile service, and Excel calculation services.

·         Manage the SharePoint Portal Server infrastructure, user access, site creation, and application deployment.

·         Manage back-ups and recovery practices.

·         Maintain systems to ensure reliability and business continuity.

·         Execute migration process of custom development code to QA and Production farms and validate required documentation.

·         Adhere to a governance model that stabilizes and protects the environment.

 

Key Knowledge Areas:

−    Experience with development and maintenance tools (for example insert tools here) is preferred.
PowerShell, Visual Studio 2010, and Team Foundation Server 2010

−    Familiarity with development practices including source control, unit testing, and continuous integration is preferred.

−    Knowledge of key platforms including list platforms here is strongly preferred.
Active Directory, MS SQL Server, IIS, Blob storage technology.
