Messaging Engineer
Basic Function:
Support Operations aspects of Emerson’s Interdivisional Global Messaging Backbone for Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS). Support and monitors the enterprise messaging systems globally. Works with the other members of the messaging team to respond to customers tickets within the published Service Level Agreements.
Principal Functional Responsibilities:
· Monitor and support for all the messaging services in Exchange: Edge, CAS, HUB, Public Folder & Mailbox.
· Monitor and support for all the messaging services in Office Communication Services
· Ability to troubleshoot Exchange and OC database issues and perform repairs when necessary.
· Ability to troubleshoot Exchange and Windows in a cluster environment
· Ability to troubleshoot SQL database issues and perform repairs when necessary.
· Manage anti-virus software for all messaging servers.
· Manage all SMTP gateways globally.
· Manage anti-spam software per enterprise policies.
· Manage record retention software per enterprise policies.
· Manager Blackberry Enterprise Servers with SQL databases.
· Manager Emerson’s global e-mail directory including the Offline Address Book (OAB).
· Test and apply software patches to all servers in the messaging environment.
· Communicate activities and operations issues to Operations Supervisor and/ or Manager.
· Work with global customer base and ITSS support groups in diagnosing e-mail problems.
· Communicate activities and operational issues to customers in a timely and professional manner.
· Ability to troubleshoot issues with MS ActiveSync for wireless devices.
· Ability to troubleshoot issues with Outlook 2003 and 2007 client interfaces.
· Provide Exchange administrator support for hosted environment.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
Mandatory Skills:
ü MCTS (Microsoft certification of technology specialist) certification is mandatory or before joining us he should complete it.
ü Candidate should have an overview on Blackberry and windows mobile devices
ü Skills: MCTS 70-236 (Exchange 2007) certification and exposure on Blackberry, OCS 2007.
