Cognos Lead

Cognos Reporting Team Lead Profile

Individual will be a part of the dynamic team of highly talented individuals and will be encouraged to contribute ideas, learn, design and implement.

Key Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

·         Hiring and managing a team of highly performing Cognos and JAVA Reporting Resources

·         Project management activities and ensuring compliance with the LRI SDLC

·         Play a significant contributing role in End User working sessions focus on the interaction with the Cognos layer

·         Being the key point person for coordinating requirements gathering and build activities of the Bangalore Reporting team interfacing with business leads in APAC, EMEA and NY

·         Design and build specific LRI Reports and Dashboards

·         Participate in and contribute to the Data Modeling of the larger Data Mart/Warehouse

·         Mentoring junior resources

·         Writing Functional and Technical Report Specifications

·         Documenting Unit and QA Test Case

Qualifications:

·         6-10 years of software development experience in large, mission critical (preferably financial services) organization.

·         5-7 years of relevant Cognos or Business Objects experience in Financial Services and working with big data required.

·         Good with Architecture, design, Dimensional modeling

·         Experience on Cognos transformer, Report studio, Framework manager, Cognos administration etc.

·         Having experience or knowledge on Cognos SDK, Cognos mashup services will be preferable

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Experience with large scale component architectures and matrix team environment.

·         Experience in project planning and effort estimation techniques

·         Strong dimensional modeling skills required.

·         Experience with managing an offshore team of developers

·         Basic Java and java scripting skills required.

·         Experience in performance tuning SQL required.

·         Ability to articulate complex data problems and solutions required.

·         Experience with multiple database platforms e.g. Oracle or Sybase required

·         Experience with OLAP technologies a plus.

·         Experience with Securities, Derivatives, and Collateral Management data a plus.
