Solution Architect

For one of the Top IT services company based out of Bangalore

a.       Job Information:

·         Solution Architect maintains knowledge of and apply industry best practices for architecture, participates in cross-functional component architecture teams, and develops future architecture and technology migration plans.

·         Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and IT strategic needs

·         Leads complex projects/issues that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. 

b.      Roles & responsibilities:

·         Accountable for the creation of Solution Architecture Package at the conception (SAP 1) and Logical (SAP 2) phases of initiatives. 

·         Has an expert knowledge of integration solutions and communicates with business owners, peers and the technical delivery staff. 

·         Collaborates with peers to ensure that the proposed solution is consistent with other designs and appropriately leverages synergies across efforts.

·         Integrates existing infrastructure with new applications by selecting the technology that provides the best solution for business needs. 

·         Responsible for design of applications based on business need and integration and reviews SAP deliverables at the solution review board.  Participates as a member in peer reviews of SAP deliverables.

·         Taking architectural and design decisions (knowledge of Design patterns, Application patterns etc) and create, deliver associated artifacts.

·         Defining the architecture and overall solution design of large/complex projects based on different  principles ( SOA, n-tier, client/server etc)

·         Designing the project that uses multiple technologies like security, portals, integration, Reporting, Database (RDBMS – Oracle & SQL/OLAP) etc.

c.       Qualification:

·         BE/MCA

·         Certificate in Architectural frameworks will be added advantage

d.      Minimum Experience:

·         7-9  years or equivalent experience

e.      Must Have:

·         Extensive experience in developing technical architectures with knowledge of information systems, spanning at least two to four component architectures. 

·         Extensive experienced in translating business strategies, across several business units, into effective solutions.

·         Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle with full life cycle experience and understanding of design patterns and their application at all levels (conceptual, logical and physical). 

·         Experience in two or more of the following:  UML, SOA, Security, Data/Infomatics, business Rule Engines/workflow.

Data Warehouse/BI Off-shore Lead

For Gurgaon based product development MNC involved in medical implants & equipments

General Description:

The Data warehouse off-shore Lead will help manage the planning and delivery of data warehouse architecture design, providing sizing and configuration and performing needs assessments. Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures, and identifies future business opportunities for leveraging the data warehouse. The Lead should have strong knowledge and understanding of the Oracle Prebuilt analytics ETL architecture and the ability to develop and understand complex ETL mappings. The lead should also closely work with on-site lead to manage workloads among 4-5 team members on-site and off-site.

Essential Functions:

·             Reviews and analyzes data warehouse requirements, develops detailed modeling specifications to meet identified requirements.

·             Must be able to assist in the data analysis efforts necessary to resolve data issues encountered during the course of the project.

·             Responsible for all tasks involved in extracting, transforming and loading data from Oracle E-Business applications into the Oracle Pre-Built analytics Data warehouse.

·             Ability to understand and create complex mappings using Informatica PowerCenter and experience using DAC for scheduling and monitoring of jobs.

·             Must have experience installing and configuring the Oracle Pre-Built Analytics and DAC software.

·             Designing detailed ETL specifications based on business requirements.

·             Documentation of all development processes and unit testing.

·             Execute test plans and document results and discrepancies.

·             Perform data analysis to resolve issues related to source data.

·             Mentor junior members of the team.

·             Assist in the hiring of required project members.

·             Create detailed project plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·          At least 5 years of experience in developing  and deploying Data Warehouse solutions

·          Bachelors degree or higher with a strong preference towards computer and base sciences

·          Knowledge of the Data Warehouse development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

·          In depth knowledge of Oracle 11i applications

·          Understanding of the following ETL development tools, programming languages, operating systems, and databases: 

o   Must have:  Informatica PowerCenter 8.X, Mapping Designer, Workflow Manager, Monitor, Strong PL/SQL, Perl or Shell Scripting, SQL performance tuning.

Strong expertise in ORACLE ETL Prebuilt Packaged Analytic applications v10.1 or higher. Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database. General knowledge of AIX operating system.

o   Nice to have: Familiarity with OBIEE reporting environment. Other ETL tools such as Oracle Warehouse builder.

·          Extensive prior experience working with Pre-built Informatica ETL

·          Hands on experience using execution plans, working with joins and subqueries.

·          Must have experience in Building indexes that support efficient queries.

·          Use ref cursors and bulk collect for fast performance.

·          Must be able to perform STAR transformation tuning and materialized view creation for optimal Oracle data warehousing performance.

·          Nice to have understanding of the Oracle 10g architecture.
